Electrospinning technique uses electrical field to produce fibers with diameter ranging from nano-scale to a few microns. This technique has become a popular approach among nanofiber production techniques, owing to its simplicity, speed, efficiency, and low preparation cost. Electrospun nanofibers have attracted many interests for different applications in recent years because of their unique properties such as high surface to volume ratio and high porosity. These nanofibers have various applications including membranes and filtration sensors and biomedical applications such as drug delivery, wound dressing, tissue engineering and biosensing. With the increase in the number of electrospinning companies over the last years, electrospinning is progressively moving from laboratory bench processes to industrial scale processes. One of these companies is Fanavaran Nanomeghyas, FNM, Ltd located in Tehran, Iran which has mostly worked on developing electrospinning technique and devices from 2004. FNM is developing several electropsinning machines including lab, pilot and large scale electrospinning machines as well as melt, force and blown electrospinning systems. FNM’s lab-scale electrospinning machines are excellent for research and production of several kinds of ceramic, polymer, composites nanofibers. These machines have reasonable and competitive price with high quality and FNM has exported this machines to foreign countries. Currently, FNM develops industrial and pilot electrospining machines, which can be used in coating filters’ papers by a layer of polymeric nanofibers. A thin layer of nanofibers increase the filtration efficiency, filter life-time and dust holding capacity without increasing the pressure drop. The produced nanofilters by this large scale machine are useful in cars’ filter, power plants’ filters, respiratory face masks, etc. In a power plant’ filters; this technology can improve the energy conversion about 1 percent. The produced nanofilters passed required tests and standards and got needed certificates from some institute such as VTT (Finland) and DMT (Germany). The technologies and machines are all developed by FNM. Also, subsystems such as high voltage power suppliers, syringe pumps, collectors and other accessories are being produced in this company. Additionally, FNM is going to develop many kinds of technologies related to nanofibers including ceramic nanofibers, composite nanofibers, scaffold nanofibers and core-shell nanofibers. Thus, this company not only produces machines related nanofibers but also develops aforementioned technologies employing professional experts in chemistry, biomedicine, nanomedicine, mechanics and nanomaterials fields. On the other hand FNM, we are also producing capillary electrophoresis which has a lot of applications in separation and detections of protein, DNA and nanoparticles, etc.
